What is the Teller’s role?

The Teller’s job is to process a variety of routine financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and credit card and loan payments. Basic knowledge of retail banking products is required, including personal and business bank accounts and related account services and basic knowledge of registered products. The teller is fully familiar with online accounting and transaction processing systems. The typical career progression for the Teller is to eventually become a Financial Services Representative.

  • Managing and balancing cash drawer
  • Refering customers to other bank staff for product sales or problem resolution
  • Providing prompt and courteous customer service
  • Completing efficient daily settlements and transaction batches
  • The Head Teller controls access to vault cash holding and responsible for cash orders and shipments
