What is the Estate And Trust Administrator’s role?

The Estate/Trust Administrator (TA) position provides administrative support to trust officers directly responsible for the estate, trust, POA and agency accounts. The TA will have some direct contact with estate and trust clients as well as their beneficiaries.

This is a professional career that will progress in level of responsibility and increased complexity as experience is gained. It can be a lifelong career or it can be part of a component within a career progression plan leading to a position as a trust officer or trust manager. Salary will generally increase with the level of responsibility.

What are the responsibilities of this role?

  • Preparation of appropriate documentation for regulatory, tax, legal and government agencies and related documents on behalf of estates, trusts and POAs
  • Managing the day-to-day estate and trust administration including beneficiary communications, bill payments and disbursements
  • Carrying out trust accounting transactions including capital or revenue charges, receipts, fees and adjustments for estates and trusts accounts. Preparation of probate documentation
  • Communications with other financial institutions
