We are pleased you chose CSI to be your education partner as you pursue your professional goals in the financial services industry. Before you begin your course work, we encourage you to read through this orientation information to get the most out of your CSI experience.
Find everything you need to know about your course by logging into MyCSI. To log in, you will need to enter your Student ID or the email address and password you used when you registered online. First-time students will receive a temporary password via email. You can change the temporary password from your student profile once you log in to MyCSI.
In MyCSI you will be able to:
Make sure that your first and last name in your CSI profile matches what is currently stated on your government-issued photo identification. If the information is not an identical match, you will not be permitted to write your proctored exams. If you need to revise your name, contact us through support.csi.ca.
If you want to learn more about the course you’re taking, go to the full course information page on CSI’s website. Just type the name of your course in the search bar to find it. Here you can see an overview of your course and learn about the format and structure of the exam you’ll be taking, the enrollment period, the approximate number of study hours, the availability of CE credits and other useful information to help you succeed.
We recommend that you review CSI student policies, frequently asked questions or use the website search bar to research the following important topics related to your course:
All course materials can be found on MyCSI including the PDF or e-book version of the textbook. The online platform includes several study aids such as practice questions and interactive activities as well as access to a discussion board.
CSI courses are designed to be self-study courses. We recognize that from time to time, you will need to raise your hand to ask questions. If this is the case you have two options: post your question on the discussion board or contact Learning Support via email at learning_support@csi.ca.
If you are enrolled in a course that has an online discussion board, you can post your questions or respond to those submitted by your peers. Discussions are monitored by our learning specialists. Certain courses also have FAQs which are compilations of past student questions.
For email inquiries, CSI learning support specialists will generally respond to queries within two business days. When submitting your questions you should include your name, course name, chapter or section in reference to the question. The learning support specialists do not have access to exam questions and therefore are not able to assist in this area.
Before booking your final exam, please login to your online course to see if your course has been updated. CSI courses are updated regularly to ensure that you learn the most current and relevant information. If your course is updated during your enrolment period, your final exam may also change to reflect the updated content.
We understand that mastering the learning materials and passing your course is your current goal. But we also want to help you create a longer-term blueprint for your career path. Collaborating early with CSI is a great way for you to chart a successful future in the financial services industry in Canada and abroad. Our practical training courses are structured to follow career streams that lead you to the best jobs in banking, investment management, financial planning, insurance and more.
To learn more about the different careers for which CSI courses and credentials are required or highly recommended, visit our Financial Services Career Map.
To successfully complete your course, you will need to write your proctored exam(s) by remote proctoring or in person at one of our test centres. Proctored exam sessions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so it’s best to book early.
Here are links to some of the key questions you may have about proctored exams:
Access to your online course materials is available for two weeks after passing your exam or the course enrolment expiry date (whichever comes first). It is a good idea, therefore, to download or otherwise save a copy of any material you may need for future reference.
CSI makes available a Student Performance Record (SPR) for each exam attempt for courses that have a proctored exam. You can find this on MyCSI. The SPR provides you with a percentage breakdown of how you did on each course topic or category and helps you focus your efforts should you not pass an exam attempt. An SPR is not available for non-proctored online exams at this time.
Upon successful completion of your course, you will get a Notice of Course Completion. Your academic transcript which includes information on all completed courses will be updated.
Your Notice of Course Completion and course transcripts of all your CSI courses are available on MyCSI.
Several CSI courses offer a wall certificate. To see if your course qualifies, check out your course information page on CSI’s website (csi.ca). Wall certificates are mailed out four-to-six weeks after you successfully complete a course.
An ‘Honors’ certificate is issued to students who obtain a final course mark of 85% or higher.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your course, please reach out to us through support.csi.ca
We wish you success in your studies!
