Taking your exam is the final step toward completing your course and achieving your career goals—and we want to make this step simple and straightforward. We continually work with our exam delivery partner, Prometric, to provide our students with an excellent exam-taking experience in a safe and secure environment.

You have the option to write your exam through Remote Proctoring from any location (including your home) or In-Person at one of our test centres. We provide lots of flexibility to book exams on different days and times.

Remote proctored exam

Remote proctoring allows students in more remote locations or areas still under COVID-19-related restrictions to write their proctored exams safely. Students can take their exams from the comfort of their home or other location without travelling to an exam centre.

Chose to write a Remotely Proctored Exam if:

  • Do not wish to travel to a test centre
  • You have access to a computer and internet set-up that meets requirements
  • Show symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19
  • Have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19

In-Person exam

An in-person exam at a dedicated test centre provides a comfortable and quiet environment to write your exam. All our 17 exam centres across Canada follow strict social distancing guidelines for the safety of our students and staff.

Chose to write an In-Person Exam at a test centre if:

  • Prefer a formal, quiet and secure exam environment, away from disturbances/interruptions in the home
  • Live close to a test centre in Canada or internationally.
  • Personal computer and internet do not meet system requirements
  • Not particularly comfortable with technology

Preparing for a Remote Proctored Exam

Remote proctored exam provides great flexibility for students who prefer to write their exam from the comfort of their home or other location. That said, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their personal computer—that they plan to use for the exam—satisfies the minimum system requirements and meets all other technical criteria. Students are also responsible to ensure their surroundings and internet connection meet the remote proctoring requirements. Our exam partner, Prometric, provides technical support before and during your exam. On the exam day, the Readiness Agent or Proctor will be available to assist at all times.

Preparing for an In-Person Exam at a Test Centre

An in-person exam at a test centre is a great option for students who prefer to write their exams in a formal and controlled exam environment. Students will be guided through the security and check-in process as soon as they arrive at the test centre. Test centre personnel are responsible for the environment set-up and technology functionality. All you need to do is come prepared to challenge your exam.

Upon successful course completion, you will receive a Notice of Course Completion. You will also receive a Student Performance Record (SPR) for each exam attempt that identifies how well you scored in the different topic areas.

Your academic transcript which includes information on all completed courses will be updated.

You can access all this through MyCSI. Please review our frequently asked questions for more information about exam results.
